- Palazzo Suriani
The Suriani palace rises three floors above ground ended by the attic with sloping pitched roof. Drawing, drawn up in 1840 by the architect Michelangelo Romano, is the typical expression of the stately home built on a rectangular layout with a rigid distribution of the rooms around an axis of symmetry that, perpendicular to the main facade, crosses the hall, the courtyard and the staircase. The heart of the organism is the courtyard, precisely in the function of the central element of the building that expresses the architectural rules widespread in the industrial age, based on parameters of convenience and solidity. The body must in fact be solid in its structures, healthy for the display of the compartments and convenient for the shapes of the regular and symmetrical environments. The courtyard with a portico follows the large entrance hall, punctuated by pillars, in front of the staircase three flights on pillars, which leads to the apartments on the upper floors consisting of rooms distributed on the four facades. Only some service areas overlook the courtyard. Built in exposed brick masonry, present the front of the entrance enhanced by two registers, that branch off from the basement wall with horizontal bands, marked by six pilasters that frame the windows on the first level and the balconies on the second floor. The archived portal, slightly overhanging the wall, it is covered by a balcony on shelves with an opening corresponding to the reception hall, environment this that, like some others in the building, it is finely decorated, on the walls and on the pavilion vaults, from frescoes by the Campania painter Nicola Biondi.
La posizione è strategica in quanto è vicinissima alla località turistica di Vasto, al mare, a mete sciistiche.
